Due Date : 12-19-08

Objective: The objective of this lesson is to master the use of a web-based photo and video sharing site and create an autobiographical digital video of your life. In other words, you are going to digitally tell a story about who you are (your like, dislikes, interests, sports, hobbies, etc.)

You have the option to add what you would like to be (your ambitions, goals, dreams, career or job you what to have when you are an adult.

Video Length – approximately 2 to 5 minute long

*** For an example of a digital video, you can view the video on my web page https://glant60.tripod.com/  titled: Glenn’s photo video.

Procedure:

Part 1 - Beginning on December 8th, you will need to bring to class photos and or videos about yourself. Each day in class you will scan or download your photos and/or videos into the photo shop program of your choice (they are listed below). Since our class has access to both Mac and Windows, the technology you use depends upon your computer’s operating system and what you want to accomplish.  I suggest you look at the tools listed below and see what each can do. You have one week to accomplish Part 1.

Mac Users, consider iphoto (if you want to work with photographs) or imovie (if you want to work with video clips). Both are free with the ilife suite of products on your Mac.  Apple offers these tutorials.  Here is another step-by-step tutorial.

Windows XP Users, consider Photostory 3 (free download) for photograph editing, or Moviemaker 2 (free download) for video clip editing. Microsoft offers tutorials for Photostory 3 as well as tutorials for Moviemaker.

This tutorial will also help with Photostory 3.

Another tutorial for Moviemaker is here.

Windows Vista Users, consider Moviemaker 2.6 (free download) for video editing or Photostory 3 (free download) for photograph editing.  Microsoft offers tutorials for Photostory 3 as well as tutorials for Moviemaker.  Yes, these programs work with Vista, despite what you might read. J

This tutorial will also help with Photostory 3.

Another tutorial for Moviemaker is here.
